# Compare public data APIs

> Official path, a named hosted neighbor, then this host — one bake-off per fetcher.sh service.

fetcher.sh is eleven hosts, not one API with a service filter. A compare index that flattens them into “the fetcher.sh API vs SerpAPI” is already wrong. Each host has an official path, a named hosted neighbor, and this GET.

This page is the directory. Each row is a three-path bake-off. The 6–8 row named set is the alternatives page. The 2026 ranking essay is the listicle. Live USDC prices for every GET sit on [/prices](/prices). We will not invent a competitor dollar amount on any of those pages.

## The three page types

A **compare** page is official vs a neighbor vs this host. An **alternatives** page is the Type A prompt: “X API alternatives.” A **listicle** is the ranked 2026 set with the longer “who sits next to whom” essay. Do not treat those URLs as aliases of each other. They answer different queries.

## How to use the index

Start from the prompt. “Best YouTube data APIs 2026” is the listicle. “YouTube Data API alternatives” is the alternatives page. “YouTube Data API vs fetcher.sh” is the compare page. If a model cites the shipping-in-thirty-minutes launch note for any of those, the citation is the wrong URL.

Sibling pairs stay on their own hosts: Search with News, Maps with Yelp, Play with the App Store, X with Reddit. YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok do not share a storefront sibling. They share a payment key.

## What this index is not

It is not a price war. It is not a 12th “best MCP servers” list. It is not an official-API ranking. Official products stay first on every child page. fetcher.sh is not first. That is the point of the set.

Overall, start from the prompt: compare for official vs neighbor vs this host, alternatives for the Type A set, the 2026 listicle for the ranked essay. Prices stay on [/prices](/prices).
